USSF D-2 Pro League Passes Halfway Mark of 2010 Season in Week 13

Week 13 Recap

This week saw the USSF D-2 Pro League season pass the halfway mark on July 4 weekend. After a 2-1 come-from-behind victory on June 30 by Vancouver Whitecaps FC against the Montreal Impact, Montreal fell again 2-1 to Rochester on July 3. Vancouver traveled back west to face the Portland Timbers on July 3, where, despite Portland’s 20 shots, the Northwest derby ended in a 0-0 draw. The Carolina RailHawks gained two points on conference leaders Vancouver with their 2-0 win against AC St. Louis. Puerto Rico overcame an own goal in the first minute of their match against Austin to draw 1-1 in Texas, stealing a point on the road. July 4 featured two matches to enjoy on the holiday with fans in Tampa seeing a 1-1 draw between their Rowdies and Miami FC. In the last match of the holiday weekend, Crystal Palace Baltimore scored a late goal in the 86th minute to earn a road win against the NSC Minnesota Stars.

Week 13 Quick Hits

•    After their win away to St. Louis, Carolina remains undefeated on the road having played seven of their 12 matches away from Cary, N.C.
•    With their victory against Montreal, Rochester has now extended their unbeaten streak to six games - taking 14 of the possible 18 points.
•    Vancouver completed a five game road swing remaining unbeaten and taking two wins to remain top of the NASL Conference.

Week 14 Preview

Week 14 kicks off on a Thursday when Vancouver Whitecaps FC plays host to AC St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. ET on July 8 at Swangard Stadium. Friday, July 9, follows up with two matches. The first will feature the Puerto Rico Islanders facing Crystal Palace Baltimore at 8:05 p.m. ET in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Austin will travel to Rochester for a 7:30 p.m. ET kick for a duel between two clubs on a string of good results. Montreal at St. Louis will start the Saturday, July 10 schedule at 8:10 p.m. ET at Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park. Completing Saturday's action, the Tampa Bay Rowdies will visit the NSC Minnesota Stars at 8 p.m. ET and the Portland Timbers and Miami FC face off at PGE Park at 10 p.m. ET. The final match for Week 14 will be Puerto Rico’s second home game when they play host to the Carolina Railhawks at 7:05 p.m. ET in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Week 14 Notes

•    The top two teams of the USL Conference will meet when Rochester and Austin clash at Marina Auton Stadium on July 9.
•    Puerto Rico have two home games this week before heading out on a three game road trip.
•    Portland will be looking to turn around their result at home after they were defeated 1-0 away to Miami when the teams met on June 12.
